Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to define a centrality measure that characterises the resilience of a network against invasion by a mutant of a type different from the population’s resident type. The network, or graph, consists of nodes representing individuals and edges characterising their interactions. The dynamics are modelled using Moran processes. Each individual interacts with its neighbours through a game whose outcome determines its reproductive capacity. We assume that a mutant can emerge at any node and consider that a node is resilient when the probability of the mutant being eliminated is greater than the probability of it spreading to neighbouring nodes.
